James Morris - Photography

“The Photography course at Northallerton College is perfect if you’re interested in it and want to learn more about it. This course not only teaches you the digital side but also the film and developing side.
College has two dark rooms, where you can learn how to develop black and white film creating precise and atmospheric images. Photography also fits really well with art and enables you to work in a different way. It is more challenging than people expect however and you have to work hard to achieve good marks as in anything. You also have to be creative in what you do so it’s not only interesting for the people viewing your photography, but interesting for you. There is a wide range of topics which you can choose to look at in photography, giving you freedom to explore different areas you wish look at; from fashion photography to abstract pieces, to widen your portfolio. In year 13 you have to write an essay, it is entirely up to you what you chose to write about however, again giving you freedom to explore something you are interested in and further explore your own style within Photography."
