Katherine Auld - Music

“Studying Music at Northallerton College is a great way to enhance your musical talents. I chose this subject to gain more confidence in all aspects of
music. The subject consists of 3 modules - performing, composing and musical analysis. Music A - level helps you understand not only about
performing to a great standard, but also helps you find out about different composers and different styles of music.“Music enables you to get involved in extra curricular activities, such as performing alongside the Heavy Cavalry and Cambria Band. This gave me an inside look into life as a musician in the Army.“The College also gives you many musical opportunities such as playing in Concert and Jazz Bands, performing and playing in shows such as “Little Shop of Horrors” and singing in the Choir. All these require commitment, but provide enjoyment and help form new friendships. By studying music, I have chosen to carry on after college going down the musical route, singing and performing.“Music is a great subject to study, it is fun, but at the same time hard work! The teaching is fantastic and I would defiantly recommend Music as an A-Level!”
