Chris Shuttlewood - History

“History is a brilliant subject to study at A-level as it is constantly developing your skills as an analytical historian. The skills that History helps you to develop are recognised and respected in society by many different people. History is by far my favourite subject at Northallerton due to the engaging
subjects we study. The course comprises of both Tudor and Russian history. Both teachers hold extensive knowledge of their chosen subject areas which they are all too willing to share with you in a way that we can learn and grasp what they are teaching. Great effort is taken to ensure that both the topics studied link together so that understanding in one lesson can be taken to another. I find that History combines well with other subjects also. In the future I intend to study History at University to further develop my skills and build on my knowledge of past events. Overall as I have only joined Northallerton College for A-levels I have found it a very welcoming environment, easy to make friends and engage with the teaching staff, making it a brilliant learning environment, yet always a pleasure to attend.”
