Governor Profile

Kevin Hardisty

Local Authority Governor

Kevin G. Hardisty FCIEH, Chairman of Resources Committee (Northallerton).

Appointed by North Yorkshire County Council.

I have served as a School Governor for more than 25 years, initially at Romanby County Primary School – first as a Parent Governor and then as a Co-opted Governor. I was responsible for the premises and served as Vice Chairman on two occasions and was Chairman for 2 years.

I was appointed as a Local Education Authority Governor (now called Local Authority Governor) at Northallerton College in 1993 and have served on the Finance, Lifelong Learning and Premises/Health and Safety Committees. I chaired the Premises/Health and Safety Committee for 14 years. On the Federation Governing Body I chair the Northallerton Resources Committee, which is responsible for Finance, Personnel and Premises/Health and Safety issues. I am also a member of the Governing Body of the Allertonshire School and serve on the Policies and Performance Committee and the Joint Curriculum Committee with Northallerton College hopefully trying to ensure seamless education for all students in Northallerton and district between the ages of 11 and 19.

Professionally I am a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner and retired on 31 March 2010 after working as an Environmental Health Officer for Hambleton District Council for more than 43 years. My professional knowledge of building and health and safety issues is useful in my work as a Governor. My son and daughter, who are both adults, attended the Allertonshire School and Northallerton College. The Colleges provide excellent education for the young people of the area and I am proud to serve as a Governor.
