Brief Outline
Emphasising the practical application of Art
and Design in relation to vocational
context, the course is designed to extend
the skills and understanding gained at GCSE
in relation to working in the Arts. A
project based approach is taken to
delivering the twelve units of the full A2
qualification. The AS course is a stand
alone qualification of six units.
Methods of Teaching
Projects are practical in nature and written
in a vocational context; demonstrations and
examples are used to enhance understanding.
Project briefs give a clear structure to
each piece of work and guidance is given on
a one to one basis throughout. Where
appropriate field visits are arranged to
form a springboard for ideas.
