Brief Outline
Emphasising the practical application of
photography in relation to contextual
studies, the course is designed to extend
the skills and understanding gained at GCSE
Art. The AS qualification forms 50% (units 1
& 2) of the full A2 level (units 4 & 5). The
course is delivered through a series of
projects which offer scope for individual
interpretation and development.
Methods of Teaching
Projects are practical in nature and
demonstrations and examples are used to
enhance understanding. Project briefs give a
clear structure to each piece of work and
guidance is given on a one to one basis
throughout. Where appropriate field visits
are arranged to form a springboard for
ideas.
