aimed at developing independent learning and

Choose an
area of interest – this can be an
extension of one of their ‘A’ level
subjects, a career interest or an area
of personal interest.
-
Draft a
project title and aims of the project
-
Plan,
research and carry out the project
-
Complete a
production log
-
Deliver a
presentation to a specific audience
Methods of Teaching
Students are assigned a supervisor who will
meet with them on a regular basis to guide,
advise and check progress and also teach
relevant skills.
Assessment
The student
will be required to complete and submit the
following pieces of evidence for assessment:
-
The completed production log
-
A written report of either 1,000 words plus
an artefact, or a 5,000 word report
-
A 10-15 minute oral presentation

What We Expect From You
Students must be committed to
working independently. They must be
organised, manage their time effectively
and be able to research widely. Students
usually take the EPQ alongside 4AS
subjects in Year 12, or alongside 3 A2
subjects in Year 13.
Future Prospects
The Extended Project is the
equivalent of an AS and is graded A – E
and attracts UCAS points depending on
the grade achieved. The project should
develop independent learning and
research skills and therefore this will
benefit students when they progress to
higher education or employment. |
